The historic Hotel St. Cloud, prominently situated at the corner of Main and Seventh streets, may one day be the anchor of downtown.

Erin Mahoney, the vice president of the Future of Yesterday Foundation, the nonprofit organization that owns the hotel, said it's sure to be the "Dillards of the mall" once it's up and running.

Despite having sat quietly in Cañon City's Historic District for several years, the hotel continues to attract attention from visitors to the area, and one day soon, it could be bustling with activity.

Things look virtually silent on the outside, but lots of things are happening beneath, above and inside the historic Hotel St. Cloud.
